Housing confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung)
An Iranian tenant needs a Wohnungsgeberbestätigung for address registration just like other residents. Ask the housing provider for it; if it is refused or late, tell the registration office promptly. A rental contract does not replace it.
Step by step
- Request and checkAsk the provider to confirm your move-in and check the names, address and date.
- Use it for registrationProvide it to the registration office. Report refusal or failure to receive it in time immediately.
The provider or an authorised person confirms the actual move-in. The confirmation identifies the provider and address, the owner if different, the move-in date, the home’s address and the people registering.
Only the provider or their authorised representative may issue it. Giving someone an address for registration without an actual or intended move-in is prohibited. Berlin supplies a sample and requires the confirmation alongside the registration documents.
