Register your address (Anmeldung)
An Iranian national moving into a home in Germany normally registers within two weeks. In Berlin, use a Bürgeramt appointment with your identity papers and Wohnungsgeberbestätigung; an Iranian eAT cannot use the city’s online registration route.
Step by step

- Book and prepareBook a Berlin Bürgeramt appointment and prepare the form and documents listed for your household.
- RegisterSubmit the documents and keep the Meldebestätigung.
The federal registration rule applies when you move into a home. Berlin lists exceptions for short temporary stays; check these if you are visiting rather than settling.
For a Berlin appointment, prepare the signed registration form, your national passport and any eAT, and the housing provider’s confirmation. A rental contract does not replace that confirmation. At a first registration, the office may also need civil-status certificates. The online service is restricted to eligible German or EU citizens and excludes registration with an eAT.
