Hauptuntersuchung (TÜV): check the due date
Iranian vehicle keepers in Germany have the same applicable Hauptuntersuchung duties. Check the due month in the vehicle records and inspection sticker, book an authorised inspection and address defects. A workshop service is not itself the statutory HU.
Step by step
- Book the required inspectionCheck vehicle category and due date, arrange an authorised HU and follow its report on repairs, re-inspection and the next appointment.
The registered keeper must arrange periodic inspections at their own cost under §29 StVZO. For ordinary passenger cars, the general first interval is thirty-six months and later intervals twenty-four months; vehicle use and category can create different rules. Use the actual recorded due date instead of assuming every vehicle has the same timetable.
The inspection concerns road safety, environmental compliance and relevant construction requirements. The report identifies the outcome and defects; follow the stated repair and re-inspection instructions. The sticker expires at the end of its indicated month, and missing valid inspection proof can lead to operating restrictions. Keep the report and check the next due date after the inspection.
