Berlin public transport: Nahverkehr tickets
An Iranian resident or visitor uses the same Berlin Nahverkehr ticket rules as other passengers. Choose the zones and ticket for your actual journey and have a valid ticket before travelling; living in Berlin or holding a residence permit does not replace a fare ticket.

- Buy and verify validityBuy through an official channel, follow the ticket’s use instructions and keep the valid ticket available for inspection.
Berlin’s fare area has zones A, B and C. A covers the centre through the S-Bahn ring, B continues to the city boundary and C covers the surrounding area including Potsdam. Use the official network map to check your start and destination and choose the applicable combination.
BVG’s ticket app offers several ticket types and displays payment options. Check validity and the product’s use instructions rather than assuming every ticket has the same duration or scope. Ticket inspections require a valid fare ticket; keep it available throughout the journey and follow any identification conditions of a personalised product.
