Taking the Einbürgerungstest
An Iranian naturalisation applicant may need the Einbürgerungstest to prove civic knowledge; check whether your existing evidence is accepted first. In Berlin, book registration through a VHS and distinguish the registration appointment from the actual test date.
Step by step
- Check, register and attendConfirm the need for the test, register at the selected VHS, prepare using official questions and attend the test with the identity document required in your booking.
The test covers legal and social knowledge rather than replacing a German-language certificate. The federal regulation provides 33 multiple-choice questions, including three for your federal state; passing requires at least 17 correct answers within 60 minutes.
Ask the naturalisation authority whether a test is needed for your application, then follow the selected Berlin VHS registration instructions. Prepare with the official question catalogue and your state’s questions, and keep the resulting certificate for the citizenship application. Passing the test alone does not grant citizenship.
