Auto nach Deutschland einführen: a car from Iran
An Iranian resident bringing a car from Iran to Germany must clarify customs, technical approval, insurance and non-EU registration before use. Moving belongings may qualify for customs relief under conditions; neither Iranian ownership nor a move guarantees it.
Step by step
- Clarify import before shippingAsk customs about the Iran-to-Germany move and restrictions, have technical and registration requirements assessed, and arrange the specified evidence, insurance and tax process.
Iran is outside the EU, so do not use an intra-EU import checklist. Customs says private vehicles can form part of qualifying relocation goods when ordinary residence is transferred, but relief has conditions. Ask customs to assess your actual move and vehicle before shipment; also clarify any restrictions and payment arrangements applicable to the transaction.
Berlin's non-EU used-vehicle service requires original vehicle papers and proof of entitlement to dispose of the vehicle, along with identity, eVB insurance, tax mandate and technical evidence. It lists customs clearance evidence and a technical assessment or qualifying conformity evidence; a COC is sufficient only under the stated approval conditions. Check the complete requirements with registration and inspection offices before transporting a car that may need modifications.
