Reading a Gehaltsabrechnung
An Iranian employee in Germany receives pay information under the same statutory rules as other employees. Read the Gehaltsabrechnung from gross pay through statutory deductions to the actual payout, and compare the period, personal details and payment with your records.
Step by step
- Compare the figuresCheck the period and agreed pay, then follow deductions and additions to the stated payout and bank receipt.
- Clarify differencesSend payroll the specific discrepancy and keep the explanation or corrected statement with your records.
Section 108 GewO requires a pay statement in text form showing the pay period and composition. A new statement is not required if the information has not changed from the last proper statement.
Brutto is not the amount transferred to your account. The statutory statement separates wage-tax and social-insurance deductions, net pay and further additions or deductions leading to the payout. Check tax class and tax ID as well as the pay components. If something differs from the contract or bank payment, ask payroll to explain or correct the specific item; do not infer a fixed deduction rate from nationality.
