Kita: voucher and childcare place
Iranian families living in Berlin should apply to their district Jugendamt for a Kita-Gutschein and look for a suitable childcare place. The voucher sets approved care hours; it is separate from finding an available place and signing the care contract.

Berlin's voucher route applies to publicly funded Kita or childminding places. From the first birthday the service describes an entitlement up to seven hours daily without proving additional need; younger children and longer care require a needs assessment. Ask the Jugendamt about your family's circumstances rather than assuming work is the only accepted reason.
The first application should be made no earlier than nine months and no later than two months before the intended start. The online assistant produces a PDF: print it, obtain the required custodial signatures and send it to the district Jugendamt or submit through the Familienservicebüro. Filling in the assistant alone is not submission. Once a place is available, conclude the appropriate care contract and report changed needs.
