Krankenhaus: admission and discharge
For Iranian nationals in Germany, hospital access and payment depend on medical need and coverage. Arrange planned admission with your doctor and insurer; in a life-threatening emergency call 112. Ask the hospital about care after discharge.
Step by step
- Coordinate careFor planned admission clarify cover and the hospital with your doctor; tell the hospital about follow-up needs. Use 112 in a life-threatening emergency.
For statutory patients, the hospital checks whether inpatient treatment is necessary and whether less intensive care can achieve the treatment goal. For planned treatment, clarify the admitting hospital and insurance cover beforehand. Adults can owe a statutory hospital co-payment; private services can involve separate costs.
Discharge management helps organise necessary follow-up care, with your informed consent. Tell the team early if you will need help at home. Emergency rescue is reached at 112 for life-threatening situations or risk of serious harm; urgent non-life-threatening illness outside normal practice hours can be assessed through 116117.
