Preparing for the BAMF Anhörung
At the BAMF Anhörung, an Iranian applicant must explain the facts that oppose removal, including the individual risk on return to Iran. Prepare your own account and seek independent procedure counselling before the hearing; late facts may be disregarded.
Step by step
- Prepare your accountReview your personal experiences and available evidence with independent counselling if needed.
- Attend and explainFollow the communicated hearing arrangements, explain relevant facts fully and flag any language difficulties immediately.
Explain the circumstances of your own case fully. Section 25 AsylG says facts submitted later can be left out if considering them would delay the decision. Preparing a chronology and the evidence you already have can help you present your account clearly.
The hearing is not public. A representative or qualifying adviser may accompany you under the statutory rules. Section 17 allows an additional suitable interpreter of your choice at your expense. Tell the office which language you understand and raise communication problems immediately. Independent asylum-procedure counselling is voluntary and free under § 12a.
