Applying for a Studentenwohnheim in Berlin
An Iranian student can apply for Berlin student housing if their university and student status meet studierendenWERK’s rules. Use the Wohnheimportal after admission or enrolment and payment of the semester contribution; a university place does not guarantee a room.
Step by step
- Apply and maintain the applicationCheck university eligibility, prepare the listed evidence, choose residences and submit through the Wohnheimportal; monitor and answer interest-confirmation emails.
The operator asks for admission or enrolment evidence, proof of the semester contribution and passport or identity document. Choose three preferred residences and upload the evidence through the official portal. Check that your institution is included in the operator’s university list.
Keep the application active: the FAQ says interest-confirmation emails arrive every 30 days and must be answered within five days. Family or shared applications have additional eligibility rules. While awaiting an offer, do not treat an application confirmation as a rental contract.
