Schwangerschaft: arrange care and support
Iranian women in Germany should arrange pregnancy care with a gynaecologist and look for midwife support early. Clarify cover with the insurer; in Berlin the sexual-health and family-planning centres also advise pregnant people without health insurance.
Step by step
- Arrange care and clarify coverBook a gynaecological consultation, clarify insurance or public-centre support and begin the midwife search with any language needs explained.
A gynaecological appointment can confirm the pregnancy and begin individual advice and preventive care. Statutory pregnancy benefits include medical and midwife care within the legal rules; private reimbursement depends on the policy. Ask how to share previous records from Iran and any language needs with the care team.
Look for a midwife and discuss the intended birth setting early. Berlin's public centres offer advice and pregnancy checks for people without health insurance. Pregnancy counselling can also help with practical, financial or personal concerns, including an unintended pregnancy. If employed, inform the employer so the applicable workplace protection can be arranged.
